From the upcoming Broadway show SPIDER-MAN Turn Off the Dark comes “Rise Above 1” performed by Spider-Man himself, Reeve Carney, featuring U2’s Bono and The Edge, and produced by Alex Da Kid.

Carney is the frontman (on lead vocals and guitar) of the Los Angeles-based rock band Carney. His band-mates, Zane Carney (guitar), Jon Epcar (drums), and Aiden Moore (bass), perform nightly with the Broadway orchestra of SPIDER-MAN Turn Off the Dark.

Music from SPIDER-MAN Turn Off the Dark will be released on June 14th by Interscope Records.  With 14 new songs co-written by Bono and The Edge for the Broadway production, the album is produced by Steve Lillywhite.

Drama Desk Trophy Chaperones 2011 So last night I was given the opportunity of a lifetime and that was to attend the 56th Annual Drama Desk Awards and present the trophies to the winners. If you recall I was competing in a contest sponsored by TheaterMania.com. We were asked to submit a photo with a brief explanation as to why we deserved to be chosen. Ten finalists were then chosen and we then interviewed with the selection committee individually. Four winners were then announced (two males and two females) and well here we are walking the red carpet and shazzaming it at the Hammerstein Ballroom!!!! Tune in to see all the shazzamity as the awards ceremony will air on the Ovation Channel, June 4th at 9pm ET.
